The eRanger ambulances are specifically designed to conquer the toughest terrain and to deliver patients safely and quickly to the nearest clinic or hospital. The ambulance bikes have stretchers attached to them and carry medical supplies, providing a life saving service to those in hard to get to areas. For a country like Lesotho where the land is rugged and mountainous and only accessible on foot or by horseback, these bikes are lifesavers. Sentebale initially set up the Maluti hospital with four ambulance bikes. They have been a massive help to the hospital, and have meant previously isolated patients can now be treated. The bikes have been so successful, Lesotho Red Cross now has three bikes and the Scott hospital have two. Through eRanger people are being treated who otherwise would not have been able to reach hospitals. eRanger have generously donated 9 of these vehicles to Sentebale for use in Lesotho and Sentebale has funded the training of those now using them to great effect.
