Cheam School supports Sentebale

Thank you Cheam!.

July 2010 - Parents from Cheam School in Berkshire raised an incredible £40,000 for Sentebale at the tri annual Cheam Ball in June 2010.

“We had a fantastic party with over 300 parents, staff and friends enjoying the dodgems, carousel and of course dancing the night away to Johnny and the Zephyrs! The silent auction was a huge success with over £50,000 profit made on the night. Although the event was hard work to set up, my wife Jane and I felt that it was all worthwhile and we were delighted to support the outstanding work of Sentebale for the good of the children in Lesotho.”

Mark Johnson
Headmaster, Cheam School

“This is an incredible amount to raise from just one evening and was only made possible through the hard work and dedication of the headmaster Mark Johnson, his wife Jane, and all the parents involved with the event. We could not be more grateful - this will make such a difference to the children of Lesotho and on behalf of them thank you.”

Kedge Martin, Sentebale CEO

The money raised will make a real difference in Lesotho to our work with the country's most vulnerable children. There is so much that can be done to help Lesotho's orphans, ill, disabled, abandoned and abused children and the herd boys - support such as this will help us to provide ongoing assistance to them.

We are delighted with this donation and hope that Cheam's example will inspire other schools to support Sentebale.
