Mants'ase Children's Home is a residential home for 50 orphans and abandoned children aged from two to eighteen, who have suffered from abuse or neglect. Founded in 1979, Mants'ase is the only Children's Home and care facility in southern Lesotho. In addition to the children in the Home, Mants'ase also supports 65 orphans and vulnerable children within the local community.

Mants'ase provides a family atmosphere rather than just functioning as an institution, and encourages the children to remain as much a part of their Basotho community as possible. Children are regularly placed at Mants'ase by Social Welfare and leave only when they can be placed with relatives or are adopted. They work closely with the Ministry of Education's bursary section to ensure that any children entitled to these bursaries receive them, and are then supported so that they perform well at school.

We have recruited and fund a General Manger here, and we also contributes to Mants'ase's running costs and provides support for their management.

“Sentebale's support is key to the future of our Children's Home. Over the years this home has provided a warm lovely environment for many children to grow and develop into happy, healthy young adults.”
