Sentebale appoints four new Trustees

Sentebale is increasing its operations in Lesotho with the recruitment of four new Trustees.

These new appointments signal an expansion of Sentebale's work, and the culmination of setting up the charity's local operations on the ground. We have ambitious plans to expand and reach out to many more of the 400,000 orphaned children in Lesotho.

Since the Maseru office opened in April 2007, over 2,400 vulnerable children have been supported through Sentebale's work with 16 local partner organisations. The charity is planning to deliver 28 projects by the end of 2009.

Sophie Chandauka, Charles Denton, Jayne-Anne Gadhia and Dr Christopher Hanvey were selected, following a national search, for their valuable skills and expertise in Africa, business and children's charities. This increased resource and capacity will support Sentebale's much needed expansion.

There are now eight Trustees on the Board, who all contribute actively to the charity, guiding and governing Sentebale's work.
