Building of the new LCCU is back on track and almost finished

After a fire interupted building of the LCCU last November and destroyed part of the building, the planned completion took quite a set back. Sadly, it also meant that Lydia and the children could not move in for Christmas.

However, after much hard work and great efforts from Architects for Aid volunteer architect Pedro Clark, and the construction team, the end is finally in sight. The external walls are painted, the window frames are in place, the thatching is well under way and the roof is ready to be closed.

The only threat for completion by February now could be the rain which keeps appearing; it needs to stay away so that the roof can be closed. The only plus side of the downpour was that it has proved that the new courtyard drainage system works well!

The new building now just awaits some finishing touches, and then all that will be needed will be for the children to move in and settle into their new home.
