What can I do to raise money for Sentebale?
Fundraising events can be as big or as small as you like. We have put down a few ideas below,
Sentebale really wants you to have fun and raise money for the projects helping children in Lesotho, but before you begin please read our guidelines on how to organise your fundraising safely and legally.
Tell us what you are up to...
We would love to hear what you have been doing to raise money for Sentebale. Please send us photos of your events, or let us know what you are up to by email at info@sentebale.org or by post to Sentebale at Clarence House, London SW1A 1BA.
Some food for thought...
Hold a bake off
Get in to the kitchen, pull out your best recipes, and bake goodies that people just won't be able to resist buying.
Dance your socks off
You could organise a school disco, a 70's disco, a dance-a-thon, or even a Roller-disco, so that people can come and dance till they drop for charity.
Run for it
You can walk, run, climb the three peaks, cycle from Penzance to John O' Groats or swim for miles for Sentebale. You can build your own mini-sponsorship website through Justgiving, which lets you collect funds and gift aid electronically. If you are collecting sponsorship money yourself, just remember to use our sponsorship form.
Acting up
Rehearse anything from Shakespeare to Ali G and sell tickets to your star studded performance, perhaps at school or in your town hall.
Bowlerama
Get people down to the bowling alley, and they can get a strike for Sentebale. They could come as they are, or even wear fancy dress.
Do you know your stuff?
Test your knowledge... organise a quiz. It could be questions on geography, this week's news, or pop music.
Get competitive
Everybody loves a tournament - it could be football, tennis, or even rounders.
Rock on
Or you could flex your musical muscles and organise a concert, whether you play the guitar or dustbin lids.
Dressing up or dressing down
Everybody likes to wear something different to work, whether it's jeans or full on eighties kit with legwarmers and shoulder pads.
Get creative
Get out your camera or dust off the easel. Whatever your subject matter, from everyday life at home to images of Lesotho, your award winning artwork could become the must-see exhibition, or you could have it printed up and sell it as postcards in aid of Sentebale.
Spring clean
Whatever time of year it is, it always feels good to have a clear out, and one person's junk is another person's treasure. You could organise a car boot sale or even use ebay to sell the things that have been collecting dust for years in the attic.
Can I get some more information or materials on Sentebale?
ITN and the Press Association have been very kind in letting Sentebale use their media footage and photographs for specific fundraising projects approved by Sentebale.
If you are planning an especially large event and you think that you might like some photographs or even some media footage of Sentebale's launch in Lesotho, do please email us at info@sentebale.org. You can also request posters or leaflets on Sentebale at the same address.
Both the media footage and the photographs can only be used in aid of Sentebale, and not for direct commercial gain. The media footage or prints of the photographs cannot be sold on or used for onward transmission in any other form.
